Heathfield Carnival - Saturday 26 June

Following the success of the Heathfield Carnival last year Heathfield & Waldron Rotary with the help of St. Wilfrids Hospice are doing it again!   Last years Carnival was overwhelming, some 8000 people came to Heathfield that day. They enjoyed an afternoon of good old fashion fun, games and variety coupled with a collection of stalls, marquees and tents that offered an interesting array of things for sale or amusement.   The date this year is Saturday 26th June 2010. It is going to be a fun and enthusiastic day starting at 12:00pm with a Carnival Procession starting at 1:00pm from Crown Yard by the Crown public house down and through the High Street, up Mill Road and on to the Community Centre in Sheepsetting Lane.   Disembarkation here for an afternoon of fun and games with side stalls, shows, cream teas, and a whole range of organisations from horticultural societies, drama groups, dog training, to flower shows and gymnastics.

The procession will consist of several themed floats - the theme this year is ‘Summertime’. We have, amongst other musically talented entertainers, Tri-star Twirlers, Heathfield College Bataccuda Band plus several other bands and entertaining participants, and hopefully, a vintage car, a couple of personel carriers, and even a steam engine or two! We want you, the traders and the community to join in, be part of it  - organise your own float, style your shop window, choose whatever theme you like around 'Summertime' and be there for a packed afternoon of visitors and locals all potentially a customer for your business or charity cause.   St. Wilfrids Hospice, Rotary and others will all be 'signpost displays' in the High Street or at the Community Centre.

Note the date; Saturday 26th June 2010 and an earlier start time of 12 noon!   We anticipate several thousand visitors to Heathfield, lets make it a fun day to remember, and if all goes to plan – do it again next year!

If you wish to participate in the procession, please click on the link below.

Thank you for your support,
Graeme Hird, Carnival Promoter
